Arts and crafts night
Hi all of the MaMaJuSaVi group! I had such a great time at our "arts and crafts" night. What a great idea you had Vicky and thanks so much for offering your house for the evening. The setup down in the basement was absolutely perfect. I didn't realize how much art material you own. It's like a professional art studio. Here are some of the pictures I took during the evening.

Vicky's definitely the most artistic of the group. Her painted styro balls were very professional looking.

Here I am. My painted pinecones were probably the least imaginative but, hey, I relaxed, had some wine and a great time.

Considering we all started out not having a clue what we're going to do or make, with the help of Vicky's directions we all dove right in on our projects. Of course, it didn't hurt to start out with a glass of wine. Here's Sandy and Marge with a glass of wine and foam ball.

We got the tour of the basement and some specific instructions on using the materials - paints, brushes, glue, glitter, etc. I'm not exactly sure what Vicky's holding here.

Here we are getting down to work. I'm a little mad at myself for not actually getting close-ups of the final art work. Sandy made a really nice center piece out of pine cones, ribbon and berries and I never got a shot of it. Also, Vicky came up with the idea for Marge to make plastic baggie drying stands. They came out really nice.

Here we are on break with pizza and more wine. The pizza was delicious.

We even had a guest participant (no John, you can't join MaMaJuSaVi). His art project wasn't very imaginative - really, no pine cones and sparkles, come on John!

This is the best shot I have of the finished art work. Like I said, I should have taken a couple of good close-ups.

MaMaJuSaVi! We really missed you Mare.

Happy Turkey Day!!
Well here goes nothing--can't believe I'm this much of a computer geek that I actually blog now! I'm the "Sa" in the MaMaJuSaVi group--Sandy. Sorry it took so long to get started here! Not much of a writer, so bear with me. Let's see--married forever to Ben (wouldn't change that for the world), three kids--two in college, one out of college looking for a job. Hobbies include singing, and hanging out with the rest of the MaMaJuSaVi's whenever possible. Work at a police station, but not as an officer--though I was thinking the other day that that might be fun! It would be cool to arrest someone for something, I think. Stupid drivers would be at the top of my list! Love my job--great boss, great coworkers. Okay, enough about me. Here's wishing all my MaMaJuSaVi buds a wonderful Thanksgiving. Looking forward to our next get together!

Vi and the MaMaJuSa Cats
So, I guess there's been a request to post this absolutely foxy photo of our musical group - "Vi and the MaMaJuSa Cats". Though there might be a slight resemblance to Josie and her friends I think this group is much hotter! The singing talent is definitely with Ma1 and Sa (the guitar player). Vi really wails on that accordian and Ma2's talent is in her writing and drumming. Ju is just there for her looks (check out that bod - I wish!).

Arriving Late to the party..... as usual
So here I am, the Vi in mamajusavi. Joing a bit late from the "birth" of this blog. But are you surprised? I'm a novice to this whole blog thing, too. Although I noticed when I clicked on my name, my past attempt at a blog showed up. See? The universe truly is all connected... even if it is the World Wide Web's universe. (don't think for a MINUTE that Big Brother is not watching you) I'm the painter, not the writer, so I won't be able to do justice to the words written by Ma2. Or should that be Ma II?
Our little group consists of a writer, a photographer, 2 singers, and a painter. But that's too limiting. We're all multi-talented ladies that truly enjoy each other's company & have a darn good time together!
Those of you visiting our little blog world might wonder:
who are these marvelous ladies?
what words of wisdom will they pass on to the world?
what IS the fascination with Polish pottery?
and what DID I have for breakfast this morning? (oops. senior moment)
Let's hope for pearls of wisdom, mountains of joy & laughter drifting up to the sky!! (Ma2, would you care to fix that so it sounds better?)
peace & love

Diving In
Well somebody has to do it. MAMAJUSAVI has launched into the Blogosphere. This is scary territory, Ladies, so I hope you know what you signed up for. Blogging is the New Millennium's hip way of "connecting," but not only connecting - it's opening up yourself to the world - anybody with a computer and an Internet connection can jump in and take a peek at ya. This is dangerous business! So be honest, be yourselves, but beware: anything you do not want to share, you best keep it to yourself.
But it's so enticing, right? All you do is run your fingers over the keys and all this "stuff" comes gushing out. Once you hit the Publish key, there is no going back. So just a word of caution to the MaMaJuSaVi team. If you don't want to go there, Don't Go There.
:)
I think introductions are in order. I am not the ringleader nor will I accept that responsibility, but I am the writer in the group so I just had to have the first (and I am sure not the last) word. I am the second Ma in the group, but you can call me Mare. I am blogging here because I could not resist the chance to draw out my fellow MMJSVs and share the wacky yet insightful ramblings of a group of, uh, hot chicks who have a handle on who they are and aren't afraid to inflict it on anyone who might be listening.
OK, hot chicks was just a buzz word. But we can't reveal everything about ourselves in the first entry. I prefer to hold back, for now. That's the writer in me. Let's not give away the ending, or nobody will read the whole book.
But don't worry. I'm sure Vi, or the other Ma will spill the beans most of the time. They can't keep a secret. LOL.
